We held our wedding there in December 2024, and it was truly phenomenal. The venue is stunning and very well-maintained. We decided on a weekend wedding which commenced on the Friday. Our guests were very well taken care of and loved their rooms. The Friday night braai buffet was absolutely delicious, where most of our guests went back for seconds and some for thirds. Everyone enjoyed the swimming pool until early in the morning on both nights. The breakfast buffet was just as delicious, and for someone that doesn't like scrambled eggs, this was truly appetizing. We were able to choose from a selection of spit braai options for the wedding night. All food, especially the pumpkin fritters, was fantastic. Hanneli, the in-house coordinator, was definitely on top of everything. She made sure that our celiac disease family members were well taken care of. Despite us using a different décor agent - who completely failed us - Hanneli stayed up till past midnight to help us fix the décor and even jumped to obtain new flowers the next morning. The owner was always present, ensuring that everything was running smoothly. He was also always ready to help in any way possible. The venue and its people are one of a kind! - Hendrik De Clerk

We had such a lovely time at Steynshoop for our work retreat. Peter and Thabo took excellent care of us throughout the stay, and kept us fed on delicious, generous home cooked meals. We had an amazing game drive at a lodge nearby that was recommended by Peter and were thrilled by the presence of game at Steynshoop that we could watch from the Lapa area. Beds were lovely and comfortable. Highly recommend staying here for a relaxing break away. - Kaya

Steynshoop Valley Lodge is going to be my second home.  I love everything about this place.

The setting was amazing.  The place is beautiful.  The peace and quiet was just what we needed.  We chose a room that looked out on the mountain and the view was exceptionally beautiful.  The food was great and the staff were awesome.

Location is everything and this location is epic. The room was cozy, quaint and exactly what I needed.  The view from the room was breath-taking, with a gift of eagles/vultures soaring over the cliffs.  The staff are some of the best I have come to experience.

Beste venue ooit. Oom Pieter en Tannie Hanneli het uit hul pad gegaan om ons tuis te laat voel. Die hele naweek troue het hulle gesorg dat alles glad verloop. Woorde kan nie beskryf hoe dankbaar ons is vir hul wat seker gemaak het ons kry ons sprokietroue. Die kos was Fantasties . Staf was baie vriendelik. Our wedding at Steynshoop was nothing short of magical! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the breathtaking scenery—nestled in the mountains, it felt like something out of a fairy tale. The venue itself is absolutely stunning, offering the perfect blend of elegance and natural beauty. A massive thank you to Pieter, who went above and beyond to assist us throughout the planning process. No matter how many questions I had (and I had plenty!), he was always kind, patient, and incredibly helpful. His guidance and support made everything so much easier.

What a fantastic weekend we had! The reception we got from Pieter and his wife, Lebo the caretaker and of course Mila the friendliest most adorable dog! The tranquility, The environment is perfect, the facilities, the cleanliness and who could forget the ice maker machine!! a good thought was put into the rooms and you get everything you always thought you needed each time you visit a lodge or hotel! I loved the entire setting. My wife and I were looking for some quality time without disturbances and we got exactly that. Definitely coming back.

Stayed in the Mountain Lodge. Beautiful view with excellent accessible hiking routes. Delicious food, very comfortable beds, cute pets. Thank you so much to host Pieter and his staff for being incredibly accommodating with such a large group and several requests not usually included in lodge stay. The sundowner bouma is an absolute must. Will be back to try out the magnificent looking pool in summer.

The rooms were beautiful. The bed was extra comfy. The breakfast was delicious. The service and friendliness was outstanding. Will definitely stay there again and recommend to people I know
